Assistant Professor in the Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series

The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, University of California, Davis, is recruiting for an Assistant Professor in the Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series.  As a member of the Division of Pain Medicine, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing integrative pain management services within the University of California Davis Medical Center. Responsibilities include patient care, assessing and treating patients of all ages who have acute and chronic pain with a focus on integrative approaches for health and the integrative health care needed of patients, performing integrative interventional pain procedures (such as acupuncture), as well as clinical education of medical students, residents and fellows.  Additionally, this position will be appointed as the Director of Integrative Pain Medicine in the Division of Pain Medicine and will have administrative expectations as well as be tasked with strategic planning for, and development and implementation of a growing and productive integrative pain management program that contributes to the mission of the pain program by advancing clinical care, research, education and advocacy.

Qualified candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree and holds a licensure in the state of California that allows for the practice of integrative patient care (such as acupuncture). The candidate must have the ability and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research in the area integrative pain management.  Ideally, this work should demonstrate an ability to address novel areas, in which options for patients in pain, and their families, can be expanded and enriched. Substantial experience in teaching and educational programming for healthcare students, residents, and fellows, including interdisciplinary and interprofessional training programs, is required. Administrative leadership experience is required as is the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and collaboratively with interprofessional teams.
