Help Us Show the Real Impact of Integrative Pain Management!
We're on a mission to gather as many success stories as possible about the use of integrative pain management. Our hope is that real patient stories will provide encouragement -- and relief -- for others who struggle with pain. Whether you're a person with pain, or a clinician who treats people with pain, we want to hear about your experiences.
What do we mean by "integrative pain management"? We define "integrative" as using any and all appropriate therapeutic approaches to manage pain -- both nonpharmacological and pharmacological -- including nutrition and exercise, massage and acupuncture, opioid therapy and behavioral therapy, and beyond. We know that for some people with pain, access to opioid medications to manage daily pain is necessary; for others, nonpharmacological methods alone provide sufficient relief; and, for many, it’s a combination of both. We want to hear about all of the therapies that have worked for you or your patients.
Stories may be provided in text or video format. If you're a clinician, all patient names will be changed to keep information confidential. If you're a patient and want to use a pseudonym, that's acceptable but please provide a valid email address so that we can reach out to you with any questions. We will feature your stories on our website, and several will be chosen for an upcoming issue of our award-winning magazine, The Pain Practitioner.
Please submit one story at a time. Your story should include:
- Your/your patient's pain condition(s).
- Which integrative methods have been most helpful. Please be as specific as possible.
- How you/your patient's life has changed.
- Your/Your patient's outlook for the future.
- Any advice you would give to others.
